Mackie Carr Obituary

Mackie E Carr was born November 12th 1950, in Lubbock, Texas to Jim Carr and Margaret Carr. He passed away on March 24, 2024, he was 73.

He was the youngest of 4 and his momma’s only boy. He became a marine in the late 1960's during the Vietnam War. He took pride in his title and let everyone know he was a Marine. "Macadoo" had a charismatic personality that he past down to his 2 children and his grandchildren. Mack could make a friend out of anyone.

He enjoyed singing the blues and played a mean harmonica. His hobbies included composing, singing and playing music, working on old muscle cars, and building anything and everything imaginable. He was a master at impersonating his favorite musicians from Ottis Redding, Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbinson, Merle Haggard, Buddy Holly, even Janis Joplin to name a few.

He was a man of soul and passion and you could always feel his energy. He was the funniest person with such an amazing personality (next to his daughter Margaret), and the greatest dad. He loved all 6 of his grandbabies and was so proud of each of them. He loved with all his heart and will be incredibly missed.

He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, Margaret and Jim Carr; his 2nd wife, Pamela Johnston; his brothers, Roy, Joel, and Saul Garza; as well as his nephews, Billy Jack Garza and Jeremy Lee Garza; and his niece, Melissa Garza.

He leaves behind his 1st wife Judy Graham and their son, Rusty Carr; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Carr;  his daughter, Margaret Carr; his grandchildren, Kenza Carr, Omi Carr, Karri Casorla, Ari Casorla, Johnny Casorla, Ulin Casorla; his brothers, Gabriel Garza, and Leandro Garza; his sister, Lydia Garza; his nieces, Sarah, Jennifer, Barbara,  Maryann Garza; and his nephews, Joel, Bense, Billy, Sam, John, James Garza, Lee Mack, and Manuel.

He leaves a legacy that is unique and powerful. May you please keep the Carr and Garza family in your prayers.

May he enjoy his time with all of those we miss so dearly. Macadoo, here's to you!

"I am very proud of my daddy's name."
